Tubal reversal  Sep 26, 2003

September 2003

Well, our reversal was done on September 26, 2003. We arrived in Corpus Christi on Thursday, rented a car, then drove to McAllen, Texas. We had planned on driving into Mexico, but at the last minute, after talking to Joe, we decided to have him take us. I didn't get to meet Aimee. We made it to the hospital at around 4pm on Friday. We didn't get a chance to stop and get goodies, because of all the rush.

I was so scared, we both were. I was wondering if we had done the right thing. I was placed in room #1, it was a quaint, clean room. The nurse came in to greet us, Levi was not there yet, he was taking a test. That made me REALLY nervous! I got undressed and the nurse started the IV. A couple hours later Levi arrived, and all was well. He made everything GREAT! I was so glad to see his face. My surgery was set to start at 7 pm. I met the knock-out Dr., Dr. Moreno and Dr. Perez. I was asking if he was there, I was pretty groggy. My husband got to talk to them a lot more than I did. Jason was absolutely fascinated by watching the surgery. I was so proud of him, he was darling in his little scrubs.

I kept asking how much do I have left? Dr. Perez said 6cm on both sides. I was thrilled! Praise God!! My Dr. here said I only had like 3 cm and he couldn't do it. He was sure wrong. I was in a great deal of pain, way more than I thought I would be WHEW!!!

I left that Sunday, Joe was so on time and very careful with driving over the bumps in the road. I was oh so grateful. That plane ride home was short, but quite painful and exhausting. I highly recommend the support panties, they are so necessary. They were a God-send.

When we arrived back home, I called my Dr. to get some stronger meds. and then I was okay. The recovery has been longer than I expected, but worth every bit of all we've gone through to get this done. I am so whole again. I felt like new, afterwards. My first cycle after the TR was a breeze, no PMS!!! Imagine that!

I am so grateful to this group for all the love and support. I wouldn't trade this experience for anything. We are all truly blessed. Looking forward to our first TR baby! Levi is truly an angel, Thank God for him, I don't know what we would have done w/o him. I would recommend anyone to Dr. Perez, no doubt!

With all my love in the Lord!
