May 2006

Thank you all for your prayers. After my surgery we met my family at Myrtle Beach for a few days and we just got home last night. We had a nice time. I rested while everyone kept busy and it was great having everyone there together.

Here's my story.....

We arrived in McAllen Friday, May 12 around 4:00 and Marcos picked us up. He is awesome, so kind, and a pleasure to talk to! He took us to the hospital and got us checked in to a big room and we waited for a while. The nurse came and I took a shower and got my IV...that wasn't so good. My veins didn't cooperate and I almost passed out! Then hubby ate supper and they came and took me to surgery. As I turned in to the hall for surgery Dr. Perez was there and I cried out of thankfulness that I was finally there! So I got on the table and got the epidural and the surgery began. Dr. Moreno, the anesthesiologist, was awesome! He was so kind and held my hand and rubbed my hair and comforted me. I never went to sleep and one time I needed more meds in my epidural because I could feel some pain. Dr. Moreno was so fast with the meds. and everything went well.

The Dr. that did my ligation cut my tubes at the uterus on both sides. They put me back together but are concerned about scar tissue. I have 5 cm on both sides and my ovaries look good. My incision is completely healed and I feel good. I took Ibuprofen and didn't have much pain, just mild discomfort. I rested a lot and am being very careful not to do too much. For me, the IVs are always the worst part :). I was ready to get up and walk around and shower!

I was so glad I had a Spanish/English dictionary! I took support panties and was VERY glad I did! They are great. I also took a portable DVD player and movies. My room didn't have a VCR but it was nice and big! The nurses are great! I got so much rest unlike US hospitals :). The hospital is clean and quiet. Dr. Levy checked on us a lot and was wonderful! Everything was so calm and unstressful and I was so grateful! There were times when I was concerned about this or that but overall I am so glad I had the opportunity to have such a skilled surgeon. Oh yeah, Dr. Levy's FIL is taking over the shuttle service. He is a very nice man!

I am grateful for this opportunity and that it all went well! Thank you all for your help and advice! I am thankful for the outcome and know that it is all in the Lord's hands! His timing is perfect!

Blessings to you all!
